Who is your ideal boss?

Question of the Week

There’s only one person who I’d really like to be my boss.

She would know exactly what I’m capable of, would trust me to get on with things, would know not to push me too hard when I’ve got a bit of a hangover and would never ask questions when I take a few days off sick.

So who is she? Me!

The top football managers in the Premiership for the last few years all have massively contrasting styles. I can’t actually say which I’d most like to work for as some kind of combination of the styles would actually make for the perfect boss – Passion (Ferguson), Ego (Mourinho), Strategy (Benitez) and Patience (Wenger).

I know for a fact I wouldn’t want to work for Steve McClaren though!
P, Birmingham

Simon Cowell would be my pick. I’ve had so many managers who don’t tell you what they’re really thinking and go behind people’s backs.

It’d be a breath of fresh air to actually have someone who speaks his mind. You can see from the X Factor that whenever he gives someone praise, the contestant takes it in much higher regard than when the other judges do.

Not everyone would be able to deal with his brashness, but you know the people he employs would be the best of the best.

Peggy Mitchell. It’d be great to be able to work behind the bar of the Queen Vic and see the goings on in Albert Square.

She may be a little highly strung and not particularly easy to argue with, but I think her heart is in the right place
B, Chelmsford

Clancy Wiggum, the bumbling police chief from Springfield.

It’s always funny to have a boss who’s completely incompetent as it makes you wonder how they got there in the first place. Of course it’s annoying when they’re getting paid more than you and you’re clearing up their mess, but to be honest I’ve no desire to be a boss and it’d be funny watching him screw up on a daily basis.

For the same reasons, David Brent would be a very close second.
M, Glasgow

PA to Justin Timberlake would be my dream job. I’d be more than happy to do anything he asked me to do!
